Toxoplasmosis is a parasitic disease caused by the protozoan Toxoplasma gondii. The parasite infects most warm-blooded animals, including humans, but the primary host is the felid (cat) family. (from wikipedia)

Up to 1/3 of the human population on this planet is believed to carry the disease.

I urge readers to read the wikipedia article. Female readers may already know of this, as pregnant women are advised to keep clear of cats, as the disease can be very bad for the baby.
